Former toy designer, current RUclips maker and general robotics, electrical and mechanical engineer, I’m a fan of doing it yourself and innovation by trial and error. My channel is where I share some of my useful and not-so-useful inventions, designs and maker advice. Iron Man is my go-to cosplay, and 3D printing can solve most issues - broken bolts, missing parts, world hunger, you name it.

I built a giant Tentacle Robot and took it to EMF Camp, and then let everyone have a go on it. This tentacle robot uses giant oblique angled swivelling servo sections made from plywood and 3D printing to move it's body. On top is another tentacle operated by cables with the manipulator on the end. The whole things is wireless (for now) and controlled with ESP Now.

World's First SCREW-BIKE

Ad: Thanks to Odoo for sponsoring this video, try Odoo for free now www.odoo.com/r/JtZ Do you remember when I made a bicycle with an omni-wheel on the front? A while later I moved on and tried to make a bike with two omni-wheels. As soon as I’d assembled that version I realised it would have been better to have made Mecanum wheels, which have the little wheels slanted all around them. These are...
Colin Furze Helped me test my TANK

AD: Go to: pvcase.com/JamesBruton try PVcase for free! Do you remember when Colin Furze built the Rhino tank and then got stuck in a ditch and had to pull it out with a JCB? The concept was pioneered by Elie Aghnides on the 1950s. The idea being that due to the domed-shaped wheels, the more your sink into mud, the more grip it has. Colin Furze converted a dumper truck to build his version of th...
How I Built a Walking Star Wars Droid
Просмотров 120 тыс.4 месяца назад
AD: Go to: pvcase.com/JamesBruton try PVcase for free! This project is based on some Star Wars Droids which Disney Imagineering have had walking around Galaxies Edge Theme Park. Obviously they have far more resources than me, and they trained their robots in a simulation before building them. Yeah I built mine in a few weeks. In the previous video I built a very simple pair of legs with only fo...
120Nm 3D Printed Cycloidal Drive

Ad: Thanks to PCBWay for sponsoring this video:www.pcbway.com/ Do you remember when I built openDog version 3 and I designed cycloidal drives - there’s 12 of them in that machine and it’s still going strong. The motors are brushless motors controlled by ODrives and I‘ve got some more projects coming up this year using the new ODrive S1 servo kit which you’ll see in the next few months. I want t...
Gravity powered machine

AD: Go to: pvcase.com/JamesBruton try PVcase for free! Do you remember the time Colin Furze pulled a string and it made a cup of tea in another room? I'm building a marble machine which uses the force of gravity from the marble to make a cup of tea! A ball runs through the marble machine and its force is used to activate elements of the team making machine. CAD & Code: github.com/XRobots/Marble...
I found a use for the Mobius Strip Tank
Просмотров 312 тыс.5 месяцев назад
Ad: Thanks to PCBWay for sponsoring this video:www.pcbway.com/ A mobius strip or loop is a one-sided object, and we can easily demonstrate the principle by getting a strip of paper, putting one twist in it, and joining the ends together. The original tank I built has tracks like this, because it was suggested in the comments of another video, but it was hard to think of good reasons why it need...
I built a Giant Robot Furby
Просмотров 258 тыс.6 месяцев назад
AD: Go to: pvcase.com/JamesBruton try PVcase for free! It's time for the Makers' Secret Santa. This year I'm making a giant animatronic robot Furby for very a special little boy. I used 3D printing, an Arduino and various other electronics, and brightly coloured fabric to make a 'Furby Surprise'. Makers this year are: @colinfurze @xylafoxlin @BeckyStern @ThisOldTony @KidsInventStuff @LOOKMUMNOC...

Robot Centipede with Flexible Drive Train
You literally just spin a s stare at the camera maybe show some forward movement... it was so annoying
Looks really cool. Any intent on fixing the forward drive train? It seems.that.one pair or the other get stuck and goes slower than the other pair causing you to drift left or write when you are doing your forward and back onlt testing.
¿springtrap? 0:00
This is awesome
Is there any way to design a harmonic drive without flexible bits?
I thought the purpose was to be able to go straight not just in circles.
You should just make your own center return throtle grips then give it tank-style steering.
This guy thinks he’s cool……. Seriously bro!
Buy a microphone
ohh, I was having trouble controlling two axes on one of my projects because the delay was messing things up, using the clock instead is such a great tip
Unfortunately you're not the first, and technically, this is a quad bike.

Try doing a wheelie on that thing…
I want one
you are great engineer¡¡¡¡¡¡¡
ok, now show it going forward
Legendary
Could be a fun city bike but the plastic is just gonna be destroyed over time. It cant handle the wear ans tear tires can handle. Still very cool i just dint see omni wheels being the future of maneuverability
Кайф
Make a pair of miniature ones to wear as omnidirectional skates
Makes me dizzy just watching him ride the bike
WOW^1000
Fantastic work done James 👍
It's a crab bike bro.
Bro's literally screwing around
It shocks me how calm his voice can be while making literally the sickest thing I've ever seen 😍😍
Can imagine a competiton of obstacules with this bikes
Buddy hops on "Where are we going?" "Yes"
completely missed the big video on this, thanks for posting a short :) looks awesome, reminds me of something I wanted to build once (which doesn't mean I could have hehe)
You're pretty dumb if that was your exo-suit design.
That would never work where I live, which is about 6 miles from pavement and yet, I wants it. 😂
heh
Talk about reinventing the wheel
Presenting the most insanely over-engineered e-bike in history!
EMF camp looks like a lot of fun. I wish I could be there!
Finally, I'm so tired of designing my solar farms the old fashioned way!
HI, i tried to join your Facebook group but it says not available. Any suggestions?? I too love building robotics and enjoy almost all your videos
Nice summer project! Last summer I made a bookshelf out of some nails and an old bookshelf.
Гениальная штука!
For all those seeking a strafing ride.
Screw that bike
Clear plastic or mesh sleeves for each section would have increased the tentacle-niss of the robotic arm for the masses
Well... Screw you.
How does your lightsaber work
The silly music at the end somehow makes it better
Nailed it
And the last
Jeez! tuck in those laces! the dad in me is all "your laces are gonna get caught up in those wheels!!!!" great work.. amazing!!
Can this go on waha? Water? Thatd be great🎉
